Roopa,

I would like you to know that on a personal level, I admire your managerial style, your ability and willingness to interact with everyone, and most of all, the ability to hold people accountable. None of that, nor your dedication to the job has gone unnoticed by me, and in fact, it is somewhat inspiring and bears imitation.

Lastly, I’ll say that you remind me of Shohreh Aghdashloo’s character on the TV Show, The Expanse, Chrisjen Avasarala. That take charge kind of leadership comes natural to some people. Others of us have to recognise those attributes and attempt to make them our own as best as we can!

Roopa is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever had the privilege of working with; genuinely concerned about her ‘customers’. She has demonstrated the utmost in honesty and integrity to both those she works for and to those that work for her with a selflessness rarely seen today.

She is driven to give every part of her to achieve what is best not for her but those she is serving. Roopa is humble, but driven to the extreme, with a true servant’s soul and brings enthusiasm and passion to life, and those she serves.

If you are lucky enough, you may meet a few truly special people in your lifetime. Roopa is one of those rare individuals. I first met her over 20 years ago when we were both working at a satellite telecommunications company. Our little team was smart, passionate and fun. We accomplished great things together and have remained close friends ever since.

Roopa‘s enthusiasm and positivity is infectious. She cares deeply and commits fully to everything she gets involved in. In addition to her fantastic personality, Roopa is also gifted with a razor sharp mind, insatiable curiosity and fierce work ethic. Roopa has the remarkable ability to quickly learn new technologies and effortlessly solve complex problems that would normally take years of experience and training. Despite her superior abilities, she is always humble, kind and collaborative.

I have never met anyone who didn’t love working with Roopa. If you are fortunate enough to cross paths with her, you will know exactly what I mean within 15 minutes of meeting her. If you give Roopa a chance, she will greatly exceed your expectations!

Roopa, you are hardworking and demand respect. You are a kind spirit and easy to work with. You are innovative, collaborative, and understand the details.

I envy your leadership qualities, which are obvious to anyone who has worked with you. Your team loves you because you fight for them and provide coaching, guidance, and support. You this all while holding them accountable.

I was fortunate enough to work with, be led by and be mentored by Roopa over 5 years. Her ability to develop high producing teams while at the same time bulding morale and a strong sense of individual ownership, is a rare and unique talent.

She is passionate about developing teams, building quality and supportable applications and doing what is best for the customer and those supporting the applications. I observed first hand her ability to break down long standing barriers through persistence, thorough communication and believing so strongly in ensuring reliable and supportable solutions for our customers. I observed her persistence, and success, in demanding that a product vendor participate in discussions and provide solutions for requirements that were not being met.

I’ve known Roopa for nearly two decades. During this time we’ve been colleagues, business partners, and, most importantly, good friends.

Roopa has one of the sharpest minds I’ve ever seen in a human being, she is honest, reliable, fair, extremely competent, and overall fun to be around. Her optimism and positive attitude are contagious and she’s always been liked and respected by colleagues, partners, and customers alike.

Roopa is also one of the best engineers I’ve ever known, with skills spanning design, innovation, problem solving, and project management. She is not afraid to tackle big projects and complex technical challenges, and she always succeeds whenever she puts her mind to something.

Roopa has proven herself to be an outstanding entrepreneur with an exquisite business sense. A few years ago she started a company that quickly grew from startup to a multi-million dollar operation and, against all odds, she helped successfully navigate the choppy business environment during the 2008 global financial crisis.

Roopa is extraordinary in too many ways to even enumerate here and I consider myself fortunate to have had her as a colleague and friend all these years.
